UKGBC urges government to boost Green Deal take-up with better financial offer
Domestic energy efficiency must be a national infrastructure priority, the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) is arguing. The call comes against the publication of both a UKGBC report showing how more attractive finance could boost the government’s Green Deal, and official figures on the initiative’s progress to the end of 2013. Government statistics showed that the number of Green Deal Plans in progress had risen to 1,612 by the end of the year, while 129,388 Green Deal assessments were recorded.
